Why On Earth Did Odell Beckham Jr. Go to the Rams?

Odell Beckham Jr. is now a Los Angeles Ram, but why? It seemed like there were other opportunities to go to a team where he can have a larger role. That is what he wants right? He complained about a lack of targets from Baker Mayfield while in the Browns. Therefore, going to the Rams where they already have the likes of Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Van Jefferson, would make no sense. Desean Jackson just left the Rams because he complained about a lack of targets. The Saints, Patriots, Chiefs, Seahawks, and Packers were all at some point rumored to be interested in Beckham. It would seem that any of those other teams would be a better fit.

Also. why would the Rams want a declining diva receiver that could possibly mess up any chemistry Stafford may have with the guys already in place? Their offense has been rolling this season. The offense runs through Cooper Kupp, he leads the league in receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and targets. Woods is also having a very good year, and Van Jefferson seems to be coming along as of late. The Rams also have one of the toughest defenses in the league. They even traded for veteran Von Miller from Denver. They seem poised to be a Super Bowl Contender in the NFC.

Maybe it's not the targets he wants, maybe it's a ring. It may be that Beckham wants to show that he can be a member of a Super Bowl winning roster, without having to be the number one option. As for the Rams, they are only on the hook for just over a million dollars. Desean Jackson leaving town opened up some targets for Beckham but, then again, Jackson left because of lack of targets.

It is definitely going to be interesting to see how the Rams season shakes out this year. I honestly don't think Beckham in LA will be a success, Kansas City would have been a no brainer for me. It could have given the Chiefs the spark the desperately need this season, but the Chiefs are Cursed, thanks again Jackson Mahomes.
